Mozilla.org Drumbeat Presentation Challenge

2010 February 3
by Dean

In five minutes explain the Open Web to your parents.

Mozilla.org Drumbeat logoMozilla.org is challenging Global Ignite Week (GIW) participants to give a five-minute, Ignite-style presentation to explain to non-geeks – like most of our parents presumably – just what the Open Web actually means and why it should matter to them. These presentations will be entered into a global competition and the best will have a chance to participate in the Drumbeat Festival that will be held June 2010 in Amsterdam. The winner will receive an expense-paid invitation to give their presentation at the Drumbeat Festival.*

If any Anchorage geeks want to take on this challenge and give an Open Web presentation at Ignite Anchorage 3 get in contact with us at Ignite (at) IgniteAnchorage.com. We’ll assist you with the details of getting your presentation submitted and also provide any logistical or technical support you may need.

*Our current understanding is that presentations from GIW will be judged separately from all the other submissions and that there will be one winner selected from the GIW presentations. This means that you will be competing against a limited field of competitors. There are currently 72 Ignite events scheduled for GIW so your odds could be very good.
